Gateway Errors and suggested Solutions!

Errors that might occur can be from any one of the many parties involved in an online card transaction. Below are some of the general error messages and potential solutions

1 For security reasons your card cannot be added / Transaction Not Allowed The gateway system automatically screens your card details, your address and email address against the existing moneybookers database and all international databases for potential fraud or reported criminal activity. If any related security discrepancy arises this error will be displayed.

1. Contact your bank and check if the card is not blocked and indeed enabled for online international payments or;

2. If your credit /debit card is active on your moneybookers account (www.moneybookers.com) and they blocked your account or their is a security problem on it, we suggest you contact them and resolve this card issue or;

3. Use a different credit/debit card and email address and try again

2 Error or Transaction cannot be processed at this time or Transaction was unsuccessful At times the gateway or your bank (or card company) might be offline at the time of the transaction, try again a bit later. You might see an “Error” or “Transaction cannot be processed at this time”  or "Transaction was unsuccessful" error message!

1. Attempt the transaction at a later stage,

2. If still on same error after a while, copy the screenshot in an email to us for support

3 Add your Mobile number field In certain cases the system automatically sends out additional verification to the card holders mobile phone via SMS with a unique pin code to authorize the transaction.

This is to protect against a potentially payment fraud attempt.

1. Enter the pin code into the field and the transaction will be authorized and completed

2. Due to so much online fraud, identity verifications are necessary for all existing Moneybookers Users.

*NON MoneyBookers users with cards or emails not registered on the MB system will not get the login screen for verification purposes. 

4 Login Screen for verification / Account Locked- please fax verification papers The gateway might give users a login verification screen IF:

1. The gateway automatically check if the customer's credit card /debit card or email address is listed as “HOT” on the international payment systems relating to suspected fraud syndicates. The transaction will be declined;

2. If the customer already registered themselves with any of these credentials(email address, credit card or debit card numbers) on the moneybookers system the gateway will ask the customer to login to the moneybookers system to verify their identity or to send supporting documents to verify their moneybookers account. This is to curb and prevent identity and payment fraud towards moneybookers users ONLY!

 

1. If the customer is already registered / or applied for an account with moneybookers, the customer must complete the moneybookers verification required to do the transaction or;

2. The customer must use a different email address or credit card that is NOT registered on the moneybookers system;

3. Open a free TMX account, deposit money into it and pay to the merchant email address...best option!

NON moneybookers users will not get any verification screens. 

5 Login to your MoneyBookers Account screen? If you used a credit card already listed on your moneybookers profile the system will automatically guide you to login  to your account and make payment from there.

This is additional security measures provided by MB to all their existing members

Login to your MB account and complete the payment
6 Screen to Enter your security PIN code If you enrolled your card for additional security, or if this is enabled automatically for international transactions by your bank or card company, like master card CSP or similar, then you will get a screen asking for your secure PIN number. If you forgot your PIN or are not even aware of this additional security on your card, contact your bank or card company and retrieve this from them and try again

Faulty Personal Data and Stolen Cards

Any credit card, debit card or personal details (including email addresses) that are reported stolen, fraudulent, fake or blocked for use by issuing institution will either be declined or the system will ask for additional verification!

Solutions:

1.  Create the password and complete the verification requirements to complete the transaction or;
2.  Use a different email address and or credit card that is valid for online purchases (check with your bank!) or;
3.  Use the moneyexpress system to deposit from your credit or debit card and pay the merchant with your email

*This is required to protect all our merchants against payment and identity fraud!
