  How do I setup a merchant account?

  1. First do the Pre-Application check above. Admin will revert with a "Initial Yes" or "NO" based on the info provided along with the TMX merchant agreement (credit cards pay option is done directly with bank- read more);

  2. Submit the TMX merchant agreement and relevant support documents for processing and risk assessment. (This usually takes from 24-72 hours to complete. Any external approvals might take longer.);

  3. TMX will then email you any final approval rate offering for your acceptance;

  4. Once the TMX merchant agreement was processed and you accepted the final rate and terms offered, open your free international merchant account online here (if not done already);

  5. Now check your inbox and confirm your email address to have your TMX online account activated;

  6. Login to your account. You can receive payments by email or through the other payment options on the system. Go to Merchant Tools on the menu bar. The Shopping Cart Interface (SCI) solution offers 2 payment solutions, from a simplistic and easy to use shopping cart direct to checkout.

Note: Use the IMS to generate an online invoice for phone and email type orders!

Payment Flow process-

The TMX pay flow process is similar to you receiving money to your bank account. Money gets send to the bank which then credits it to your account with them. Same model used at TMX.

  • This payflow process is very imporant to understand. It means that ALL payments made comes to TMX and is then credited by the system to your TMX merchant account in real time. TMX is therefore the receiver of payments and does not act as a "gateway" or "processor"

  • Why is this important to understand?

  1. It means TMX as the receiver of ALL payments, will only credit the TMX merchant account after the payment was actually received (with a "completed" status on your account);

  2. It means TMX is not acting as a "pay processor" or "gateway" for any payment. Payments can be made through the various 3rd party gateways integrated on the TMX systems;

  3. It further means, as TMX is the receiver of ALL payments, that TMX does not decline or reject any such payments. Payments can only be declined or rejected by the 3rd party gateway(fraud scrubbing) or the payer card company or bank etc.

  4. As a value added service, TMX does assist customers in investigating why a payment got declined by any of the above gateways.

Pay Options-

A TMX account offers all the below pay options integrated into ONE merchant account:

TMX Direct pay options

These are mostly done by using the "Pay" option on member TMX account or by selecting these from the checkout page on merchant website.

  • TMX eWallet (instant pay by email- FREE!)

  • TMX Escrow (read more)

  • TMX Recurring Pay (regular and instant repeat payments to your TMX account- FREE!)

  • TMX Mass payment service. Pay up to 1000 members simultaneously. FREE!

TMX Gateway pay options

Depending on the merchant's MCC clasification, different pay options from different gateway providers will be available on the account.

  1. Credit Cards- Cards offline currently! Master and Visa: TMX members will be allowed to make Master and Visa deposits onto their TMX accounts and then pay it over to any merchant member(free payments for the sender member). This is not available for direct payments from a merchant website though.

  • UKash Vouchers - Instant Cash payments! No Chargebacks, No refunds.

  • eChecks(US bank account holders) - takes from 6-72 hours to approve depending on the US bank used

  • Direct Bank Transfers (Latin America)- same day settlement in most cases!

The following description will clarify the Member types:

  • A "Verified Member" is defined as any Existing Member who has fulfilled our KYC verification criteria pertaining to the respective account opened. Account will have an account type status indicated by a (V) in brackets. Example: Personal (V).
  • An "Unverified Member" is a user who has not yet fulfilled any KYC verification requirements pertaining to the account requirement criteria. Account will have an account type status indicated by a (UV) in brackets. Example: Personal (UV).  The account has higher processing rates due to the high risk profile of the Member. Note: UnVerified Merchant accounts, may not have any access or have limited processing access to the use the SCI or gateway services.
